A Road Trip to Washington

The banner above is what I did for 4 days. I got to take a road trip to Washington and I have some great photos to paint from now. Very excited to start painting the Northwest. So today is mostly photos from the trip. This photo was taken at Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend, WA.

The destination was Snoqualmie  to visit my friend Cecelia Hanson-Williams. We met in junior high, we were friends through high school and lost touch. We finally reconnected on Facebook a few years ago (Facebook ain’t all bad). She lives in Snoqualmie and is also a watercolor artist who is a member of the Art Gallery of SnoValley in Snoqualmie. This is worth a stop if you are in the area, there are some very talented people in the gallery including Cecelia. They do show and sell online as well so please check them out.

Cecelia was a most gracious host and a fantastic tour guide. She has the cutest little puppy and an amazing garden so we ate fresh from the garden everyday. She lives in a very beautiful part of the country and I just loved the visit. Here she is with all three puppies in her lap while we were having our morning coffee and harvesting corn for dinner from the garden.

So many rivers, bridges, trees and of course Snoqualmie Falls even in August is just lovely. Even though it was cloudy and cool, the scenery was stunning and I will be going back again and again. There are Elk that live just outside the city and this blue Heron was fishing in Cecelia’s pond. Here are just a few photos from the trip.

That is pretty much all I have to share this week. I hope you had a great week and feel free to write emails or comments. I love them all and I do answer back.

If you know anyone who would appreciate this blog please pass it on!

Have a Happy Week and Stay Safe!

Thank you for taking a little time to get to know me. Making art has been my life, I love to tell stories through words and pictures. I am a multi-media artist working in photography, watercolor, various drawing media, and sometimes digital art.

  1. Sounds like you really enjoyed your trip to Snoqualmie Cheryl! I visited Snoqualmie over 25 yrs ago, so I was surprised by your recent photo of the waterfall. Back then it was a huge raging torrent, much fuller than the one in your shot. I remember it was where the Twin Peaks TV show had some locations. I was there in winter, Feb maybe. And it was a rather foreboding spot at that time.So it’s great to see a sunnier side now. Hope to read more about your trip. Thanks for sharing.
