Hard to believe it is already Thursday and that it has been over a week since my trip to the beach.
I started the new job which will fill my time 4 days a week. I am working at a massive fabric store here in Beaverton called Mill End. Along with its parent store in Portland is probably one of the largest fabric stores in the country. The one I work at is as big as any big box store these days and the Portland one is at least twice as big. Here there is a crazy amount of magical creative inspiration for anyone interested in fiber art or sewing. Although it is not my medium, I do enjoy sewing for myself and creating home decor. I used to be an interior designer in one of my past lives and so it has been fun exploring the new fabrics and sewing tools available now in these stores. Luckily I do not have a sewing machine in Oregon at this time so I can just save the money I make to create a new life, which is a massive project on it’s own. I must stay focused on the plan and not let myself get too distracted. I kept thinking this week that I need to take a photo there, but I haven’t yet. Oh well.
On other news, I participated in my last farmers market for this year last Sunday. The weather is getting very cool and very wet and people are not out and about as much. So this will free up one day a week for rest and making art. I am also gearing up to teach the watercolor class 2 days a week at the Recreation center next week which will run through sometime in December.
I am still getting out and enjoying a walk in the neighborhood with the dogs and the leaves are turning and I am picking up and painting them for cards. I love the colors and I will get a photo this week of one of the paths I love to walk. The cards above are now on my Etsy site and if you love Fall or know someone who does, one of them might make a great gift to celebrate this beautiful season.
I am really enjoying the change of seasons and the rain is a welcome change from the dry desert air. I always loved the fog and rain in the Bay Area when I lived there as well.
