Are You Open to the Truth?

Truth seems hard to find these days
And we all are asking ourselves the question
What is the truth

Is truth something 
You must witness yourself
Or do you depend on 
Others to define truth
And you just follow along

We are inundated with 
Information that tells us 
They are the real source of truth
Mostly what we see everywhere is
Opinion not truth
Telling the truth requires facts like
Who, what, what, where, why, when
Descriptions can get 
Muddy with opinion

We live in a very big world
It is impossible to experience 
All the truth for ourselves

Philosophers say the truth is 
Somewhere in the middle
Finding the middle 
Seems to be the hard part

It takes time to find the middle
The faster life moves 
The less time we have 
To do the real work of 
Finding the truth

Finding the truth requires 
    Both eyes open 
    Both ears open
    Both intuition and heart open

We live in a world of many experiences 
And we struggle to keep them 
All straight and in focus
Truth can get lost 
When we aren’t paying attention 
And there is no time in history
When it has been 
More important then ever 
To search the for truth  
Don't take anything for granted

The truth can set us free
Try to keep yourself open to the truth
So the truth can find you

It has been a busy week and I didn’t think I had anything to write about so I was going to let the week go by without a post. However I have been inspired by some of my morning reading that covers news, art, and politics. And I remembered that I had a watercolor that perfectly expressed what I felt about the things I have read this morning.
There is a lot happening on both sides of the question of whether America will remain a democratic republic or become a Techbro, fascist state.

Our fearful leader lives in his own fog of self-glorification, golf, and signing endless executive orders, while his minions destroy government departments, leak military and highly classified documents, pass more laws that intend to take away our constitutional freedoms, dismantle websites, support call centers, office buildings where people work, etc. It is all bigger than a 3 ring circus!
It gets harder and harder to keep track of it all.

Almost all of the media here in the United States pushes the same stories, covering the same information that almost feels like it comes from an outline presented to them at the beginning of the day by the powers that be; this is what we cover and this is what we don’t. And if there is a natural disaster be sure to cover that over everything else even if it means covering the same ground over and over again.

None of the media outlets seem to cover just information it’s all muddled in opinion.

And now for the good news that I have found.
There is a lot happening all over the country! Ground roots activism is finally waking up to the nightmare we are in and they don’t like it. Groups are organizing and fighting back. We even have two progressive politicians that are getting out and fighting. They are traveling the country and doing townhall meetings to get the word out. Hurray for Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Bernie Sanders! These meeting are being very well attended by both right and left people who are wanting to get this country back on the right track. The rest of the left leaning politicians, what are they doing? Kind of hard to say. Most seem to be just going on social media asking for money to support the party and support change. This is a bit sad and disconcerting for me. It’s possible they are doing more but there just seems to be no coverage, really hard to say. The courts are being bombarded with lawsuits against what the government is doing, however, they are not happening very fast and even though they are ruling against the government, they are not being enforced or taken seriously. Can we get past this crisis? I sure hope so.

It is good to see that people are realizing that this is not what they voted for.

Is this going to be too little to let? I don’t want think so and yet even if we do get our country back the destruction is happening so rapidly can we survive?
It is also important to realize that America did need an overhaul and maybe when we get our country back, we can make the changes that were needed to better support the people and not the tecbros. That would be my preference so that is what I will hope for and work for.
