This pencil painting, “Life Goes On” was done in 2015, which is about mid-point to this sojourn I have been on, and is part of the “Left Hanging in Space” Series.
The poem I wrote yesterday captures the sentiment and repeats that spark of hope.

Worn
Something about being dressed up makes me feel complete.
I’m not talking about putting on a facade or mask, which of course could also be a characterization of being “dressed up”. I’m talking about stepping in to your best self at this moment.
Take the Plunge
This pencil painting is about personal change. Feeling vulnerable and unable to see what’s next, but knowing that change is inevitable.

After a week of Russia making noises about using nuclear weapons to win its war with Ukraine, I decided I needed to share at least one from this series and because a poem developed this morning, that made it even clearer that it was ready to be shared.
Coming Together
The concept of masculine vs. feminine and how they come together in self and in relationship with the opposite is the basis for this painting. Blending characteristics within objects and how they relate to each other. Yin and Yang becoming one.
Can I Ask a Question?
This painting is about the search for knowledge. Asking a question of all the different sources of knowledge I could think of, back then there really wasn’t the extensive google search capabilities there are now.
Back to Where I Once Belonged
I think having a chance to talk one on one with another creative, sharing our past many years since we have seen each other, really helped me clarify my thoughts. I am beginning to remember who I am
